The backgrounds are spots recognizable to horror fans everywhere, and the characters look and sound quite like their onscreen counterparts.

I played as Candyman for a while, learning how to grab people with my hook and toss them in the air and also how to summon bee swarms to help me take out my opponents. It’s definitely got a retro feel, perfect for a game whose characters have all had their greatest successes years ago.

Let me tell you, if the studio people had been gamers and horror movie fans instead of just business men, they’d have ponied up the cash to get this game finished.

To Be Added: Herbert West, Pinhead.īy digging around on the internet, I managed to find a copy of the latest version of the game, so now I’ve played Terrordrome. The current playable characters are: Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, Leatherface, Ash from Evil Dead, Jason Voorhees, classic and undead version, Ghostface, Chucky, Tall Man, The Maniac Cop, Candyman. This may or may not have had something to do with a release of both Freddy and Jason as bonus characters in Mortal Kombat. While it was in development, the studios owning the characters sent the makers of Terrordrome a cease and desist letter, stopping them from being able to release the game for profit. Somehow I missed this game completely when it was first announced and really only learned about it recently. The special moves of each character mimic or remind players of something the character did onscreen, like Jason with the spear gun or the pitchfork, or Leatherface with his killing hammer.

Once they’re added, you can even pit Herbert West up against Pinhead. Now you can finally settle the argument over who would win in Freddy vs Jason or Candyman vs the Tall Man. Developed with great skill and care on Fighter Maker 2 nd, the game includes sound clips and the animations look just like the characters should. I’ve asked the question myself, and I now know that Terrordrome is the answer. Do you ever say to yourself “Boy, I wish someone would take all those awesome horror villains and make a game where they fight each other and use special powers to bend spindle and mutilate each other?” I’m betting, if you’re reading this, then you have.
